A MOST CHARMING BEACH HOTEL

The Maasai Hotel is located 100 km from the city centre of Rio de Janeiro, in the small city of Saquarema, right on the Costa do Sol in Rio's Lake District.

The Maasai, beautifully built like a game lodge and decorated in Anglo-African style, stands right on Itaúna beach, where surfers hit the waves.

Restaurant & Beach bar open to the general public with a highly praised cuisine and a marvellous view of the ocean.

A charming pool in a flowery, orchid-rich setting completes the picture.

An experienced staff provides an excellent treatment, as well as a swift room service.

GETTING HERE

There's a coach service to Saquarema from Rio and from Niterói. From Rio the trip takes two hours, but allow a bit more time during rush hours.

By car, the best way is usually by the Alameda in Niterói and then the Amaral Peixoto highway, road nr BR-106.
The Maasai has one entrance from the sands of Itaúna Beach, but the main entrance is at the end of Avenida Oceânica (next to number 2000) in the tranquil Itaúna neighbourhood.

BASIC FACTS

The Maasai Beach Restaurant serves a complete and delicious breakfast from 8 to 10 and opens again from noon until 10 pm (Friday and Saturday until 11 pm).

The complete menu is in English as well.

The well-stocked Maasai Beach Bar, right above the beach, starts serving from 10 in the morning. Restaurant and bar open to the general public.

The hotel's pool is located in a flowery garden with a sauna next to it. There's a private, direct access to the beach.

The Maasai provides safe parking for a good number of cars, free of charge for hotel guests.
