THE MAASAI RESTAURANT serves a very complete and delicious breakfast from 8 to 10 and is open again from noon until 10 pm (Friday and Saturday until 11 pm). The complete menu is in English as well. The well-stocked MAASAI BEACH BAR is right above the beach and starts serving from 10 in the morning. Restaurant and bar open to the general public. The hotel's pool is located in a beautiful garden with a sauna next to it. Direct access to the beach. The Maasai provides safe parking, free of charge for guests, for a good number of cars.

The Maasai Hotel is 100 km (62 miles) from downtown Rio de Janeiro in Saquarema on the Lake District’s sunny Costa do Sol.

 

The hotel was built right above the sand on the beautiful beach of Itaúna, 2,5 km from the centre of Saquarema, with an impressive panoramic view.


 The beach has clear waters, almost white sand and stronger waves just to the right of the hotel, excellent for surfing. Waves are more gentle to the left of the hotel, suitable for a swim and for children.

The location is just perfect for leisure travellers, for recreation and contemplation, to relax on a holiday or just to enjoy an exuberant nature. But the Maasai receives many demanding business guests as well.

Saquarema has direct coach connection from Rio and from Niterói. From Rio, the coach takes like two hours.

 

By car, the best way, by average, is the Alameda in Niteroi and then the Amaral Peixoto highway, the BR-106.

Entrance

Entrance from the beach or from the street. The Maasai Hotel has an entrance from the sands of Itaúna Beach. But the main entrance is in the lane to the right of number 2000 of Avenida Oceânica in the neighborhood of Itaúna.

 

King Size beds

King Size beds if you want. The Maasai Hotel has rooms with separate beds, king size beds, queen size beds and common double beds. The choice is yours.

The big rider world champion Carlos Burle, www.carlosburle.com, is just one of our top surfer friends. Australians, Americans, Mexicans and South Africans (to name a few) also stay with us, giving the Maasai an undeniable international touch. The most recent big championship in Saquarema attracted one dozen friendly South African surfers to the Maasai, and they stayed up to ten days!
